Owners

We use the term “Owners” to designate anyone that owns a share of the company. The more common term is perhaps “shareholders”, but we think that this term almost connotates a hands off third party relationship since many people speculate on the market, as opposed to engaging in long ownership of shares for value growth. For this reason we prefer to use the term owners.

Typically we think of owners as including:

  • Founders
  • Early Stage Employees
  • Employees
  • Angel Investors
  • Venture Capitalists
  • Corporate Investors – For Strategic Investments
  • Corporate Investors – For financial investments
  • Members of the Public – For public companies
